Liverpool vs Manchester United
An underwhelming Premier League clash between Liverpool and United ends goalless after both sides lacked the required quality to secure victory. The Reds move up to second in the league table, one point behind leaders Arsenal and clear of third-placed Aston Villa on goal difference, while United sit seventh after the weekend’s top-flight action. Klopp will see this Anfield clash as a missed opportunity, with the Reds accumulating 2.35 expected goals (xG) to United’s 0.63. Van Dijk and Konate both went close in the first half, while Salah on his own forced four saves from Onana, who also did well to deny Diaz from close range in the second period. The Red Devils were effectively classed as rank outsiders for this derby but could have stolen the win through Hojlund had the striker not fired straight at Alisson towards the end of the game. A brainless Dalot dismissal, sent off for back-to-back yellow cards for two acts of successive dissent, caused a few nerves for Ten Hag at the end but United held on, easing the pressure on their manager after a tough week. United are next at West Ham on Saturday, when Liverpool host Arsenal for a top-of-the-table tussle in their next league outing. That is all for now, until next time! Goodbye.

Onana is in no rush to take a goal-kick as United look to stay on level terms with a one-man disadvantage. Wan-Bissaka is being readied on the bench but will Ten Hag even get chance to send him on?

Dalot throws his arms wildly in the air to protest a throw-in decision, with referee Oliver showing a yellow card for his initial show of dissent. Hold on, though, as there's another card coming...

GAKPO SHOULD DO MORE! Alexander-Arnold clips a delicate right-sided free-kick towards the penalty spot but Gakpo misses a great chance by flicking well over the target. The Netherlands international had to at least test Onana from close range there.
Liverpool vs Manchester United
There will be five additional minutes to end this clash at Anfield. Can Liverpool find a late winner, or will United hold on for a vital point to ease the pressure on manager Ten Hag?
Liverpool vs Manchester United
Varane stands firm to head away Alexander-Arnold's first cross before the right-back's second delivery is poor and goes out for a goal-kick. That sums up Liverpool's lack of quality in the final third against United.
