Brighton will be happy to be in the lead, which is much deserved, but Liverpool have looked much stronger since Firmino's goal in the 33rd minute. The visitors will need to start the second half quickly to avoid early pressure from Liverpool.
Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion
The half started at a very fast pace that favoured Brighton as they took the lead after just four minutes. Gross and Welbeck combined in the box before Trossard sent Alexander-Arnold the wrong way and shot into the bottom right corner. Trossard then scored again to double Brighton's lead 14 minutes later. Alexander-Arnold miscontrolled the ball in his own half and lost possession to Caicedo. The midfielder passed to Gross on the edge of the box, who then played Trossard in behind for the Belgian to get his second. Alisson made two huge saves to stop Brighton from running away with the game before Firmino pulled one back for Liverpool following a poor touch from Salah.
