Welcome to our live coverage of today’s latest transfer news, gossip and done deals as we bring you the very latest rumours from the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and more.

The biggest transfer story of the window has, of course, been Manchester United’s interest in Sporting Lisbon skipper Bruno Fernandes. After weeks of little movement we are expecting that story to progress significantly in the next 48 hours, as United move to bolster their injury-hit squad. One of Wednesday’s most intriguing rumours was that Daniel Levy has contacted Real Madrid about potentially bringing Gareth Bale back to the club on loan. The Welshman would be open to the move and Real are desperate for him to leave the club – but will Spurs be able to afford his staggering wages, even if partially subsidised by the Spanish giants?

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been fairly active this month and could move for a third younger player while also continuing to monitor Timo Werner, who appears increasingly open to a move to Anfield. And Chelsea are also chasing a new striker and expect the Premier League rivals to clash over the next few days as they pursue similar transfer targets. So stick with us and follow all of the latest transfer news, gossip and done deals live below.

United and Chelsea have both been linked with Dinamo and Spain star Dani Olmo. There could also be some big moves across Europe. Real Madrid have been linked with a £68m move for Timo Werner, as well as Flamengo wonder kid Reinier, while Arsenal have turned their eyes to RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano as a long-term target.

Edinson Cavani could move to Chelsea this month, report the Times.

The PSG star is available for £23m, and the Blues are considering an 18-month contract.

The 32-year-old will become a free agent this summer and has also been linked with Man United and Atletico Madrid, who had an £8.5m bid rejected by the French club.

PSG have put a £17m price tag on Edinson Cavani with just over a week until the January transfer window shuts.

The 32-year-old has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Brighton defender Dan Burn has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2023.

Burn, who moved to Brighton from Wigan 18 months ago, started all 21 Premier League matches for Graham Potter's side this season before he suffered a broken collarbone against Chelsea on New Year's Day.

"This new contract is a reward for Dan's consistent and impressive performances so far this season," said Potter of the 27-year-old, who is expected to return to action in March.

"He became a key part of the team before his injury setback at the start of the calendar year, and we're looking forward to being able to welcome him back into the squad as soon as possible."

Real Madrid's Alvaro Odriozola looks destined to sign for Bayern Munich.

The Spanish right-back has been unable to break through at the Bernabeu and command a first team place.

And a host of clubs are thought to be keen now that he is available, but Bayern appear to be the front-runners now according to Sport Bild.

DONE DEAL

Sheffield United have signed Jack Robinson from Nottingham Forest.

"Jack's got a great pedigree and he will make our squad stronger," Chris Wilder said.

"But he isn't just coming in to make the numbers up, it's a specific position in our system and we feel he is the best option for us at this time.

"Jack can comfortably play in a couple of roles and we're delighted to add him to the group. He's got a fantastic attitude and he's ambitious to earn a place in the team."

Guardiola on City players' futures

My bosses have one eye to see if I deserve to continue here.

My eyes have to control my players and how their performances deserve to be here. There is no other solution.

Everything is related to the performance, not about the contract we have or what we are. For me as a manager [I'm] being observed and it's the same for the players.
