From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Tottenham Hotspur are hosting Dinamo Zagreb tonight as Jose Mourinho’s side look to take another step toward European glory. Inconsistency has blighted Spurs’ campaign, both domestically and in the group stage of their Europa League campaign, but more recently they have found a positive groove with key attackers finding form. Gareth Bale, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all been impressive at times recently, giving the boss options to rotate his team.
Dinamo have yet to lose a game in the Europa League this season and finished top of the group ahead of Wolfsberger – who Spurs knocked out in the last round. This last-16 clash will see Tottenham start as favourites, but they know they’ll have to be near their best to continue their progression through this competition, with the ultimate aim of winning the trophy and securing a spot in next season’s Champions League.

74’ - Spurs 2-0 Dinamo
Dinamo starting to send a few more players forward now as they look to find what could prove a vital away goal. In truth, they haven’t gone close since the opening minutes of the game, while Spurs’ recent performances have been largely good from a defensive standpoint.
GOAL! 70’ - Spurs 2-0 Dinamo
Kane again! And that will wrap up the first-leg lead for Spurs. Ndombele spreads play, Aurier crosses but it’s a mistake from Theophile-Catherine whose attempted clearance falls to Kane...and you know what happens next. 2-0 to Spurs.
68’ - Spurs 1-0 Dinamo
Ademi goes into the book after yet another foul on Ndombele. He has been everywhere tonight!
64’ - Spurs 1-0 Dinamo
Bale and Bergwijn come on and almost immediately combine for a goal; the former crosses, the latter side-foots a volley on target but it’s saved.
TOT subs: Bale, Moura and Bergwijn on for Lamela, Son and Dele
DIN subs: Kastrati on for Majer
60’ - Spurs 1-0 Dinamo
There’s the chance for Dinamo. A break down the right sees a low cross put over to Petkovic, but he’s on the stretch and can’t divert it on-target with his left foot. Spurs readying some changes.
56’ - Spurs 1-0 Dinamo
Ndombele right in the centre of it all at the moment. He’s fouled twice more, then barrels past about four challenges into the box, only finally stopped when three more surround him.
52’ - Spurs 1-0 Dinamo
Ndombele goes down in the box after a clear step on his foot - but the ref says no penalty and VAR appears inclined to agree. Mourinho, needless to say, does not. Dinamo perhaps fortunate to escape there.
48’ - Spurs 1-0 Dinamo
A lively start to the half. Lamela always bundles his way through to net a second, then Kane fires over on the rebound.
