Tottenham Hotspur fell to a humiliating defeat against a clinical Bayern side in Tuesday night's Champions League meeting.

A second-half Serge Gnabry hat-trick and a Robert Lewandowski brace took the game beyond a Spurs side that led early in the first half.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are now left with just one point from their opening two games in Group B. Follow the latest reaction:

Here is everything you need to know about the game:

When is it?

Kick-off is at 8pm.

How can I watch it?

The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2 and BT Sport Ultimate, and can be streamed online via the BT app.

Team news

Initial fears of an injury to Son Heung-min, after the forward was withdrawn early during Spurs’ win over Southampton, have been dampened meaning new signings Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon remain the only two players unavailable to Pochettino.

Bayern are missing both leon Goretzka and Jann-Fiete Arp through injury, while Ivan Perisic is also a doubt after missing Bayern’s victory at Paderborn through illness. David Alaba has completed his injury recovery and could return to the starting eleven.

Predicted line-ups

Tottenham: Lloris; Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko; Eriksen; Son, Kane

Bayern: Neuer; Pavard, Sule, Boateng, Alaba; Kimmich, Thiago; Gnabry, Coutinho, Coman; Lewandowski

Prediction

Tottenham 1-3 Bayern Munich

Despite a number of iffy performances to start the season, Spurs will raise their level against Bayern and have shown on numerous occasions that they are capable of holding their own against such opposition. However, with the added threat of Coutinho, and Lewandowski in such spectacular form, Bayern should come out on top in a wide-open attacking game.

Spurs will be looking to get their Champions League campaign going after they threw away a two goal lead in Greece last time out

Bayern meanwhile, breezed past Red Star Belgrade. A tougher test in North London tonight though.

How are the Germans doing domestically?

They top the Bundesliga rather predictably. 14 points from six games after a nervy 3-2 win at Paderborn on the weekend.

One man who hasn't disappointed so far in Munich is Philippe Coutinho.

Two goals in his last two appearances for the former Liverpool midfielder who starts tonight.

Spurs showed they do have bottle on the weekend, contrary to what you may hear about the North Londoners from football Twitter...

They dug in for a 2-1 win against Southampton despite Serge Aurier's red card in the first half.

Eleven men probably needed against the German Champions tonight.

Rio Ferdinand: Spurs don't look like a team that can win trophies.

Does Harry Kane need to move in order to challenge for titles?

He was in a Champions League final last season...

Lawrence Ostlere1 October 2019 19:32

It's a big night for Dele Alli.

The England midfielder seemed to have fallen out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino, but he's thrown in on the biggest night of the season so far.

He provided the crucial assist on that night in Amsterdam last season.

Lawrence Ostlere1 October 2019 19:35

It looks like it could be a diamond in midfield for Spurs tonight.

Winks at the base of midfield with Sissoko and Ndombele either side, Alli behind Son and Kane who lead the line together.

Lawrence Ostlere1 October 2019 19:40

For Bayern, likely to be a 4-2-3-1 with Coutinho behind goalscoring powerhouse Lewandowski.

The Polish striker is on 10 goals in his six Bundesliga games. Unbelievable.
