United took the lead early in the first-half when summer signing Daniel James lashed home his third goal in just four games.
But Southampton fought back in the second-half and levelled the score when Vestergaard rose above Victor Lindelof to head home. Kevin Danso was then shown a second yellow card for the home team, but they held out for a valuable point. Relive the action below:

Manchester United are a totally different proposition of course, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does have two big injuries to contend with. So we’re boldly predicting a 2-2 draw.

Romeu runs into Pogba and gives away a free kick. Pogba has moved forward since the change with Matic sitting deep, just in front of the defence.

Ashley Young wins a free kick, United send it out to the right, McTominay runs with the ball and Danso dives in on him. He takes his legs and receives a yellow card. His card of the game and so is sent off!

75 mins: United have a great chance to capitalise now. Wan-Bissaka puts the ball into the box, James tries to volley it into the net but spoons it high. Another ball comes in for the Welshman and he can't control it.

United come again but Southampton are defending well. James puts a cross in and sends it over everyone.
McTominay is off and Greenwood comes on for United.

84 mins: Pogba loses the ball again and Saints can take hold of the ball. Long takes it into United's box but Maguire wins it back. Lingard runs the ball towards the box and and takes a shot from range, Bednarek blocks it.

87 mins: Greenwood goes down in the box but Mike Dean doesn't give a penalty. VAR agrees and doesn't overturn. Pobga finds Lingard in the pocket and Lingard tries to curl one into the bottom corner but sends it wide.

Man Utd have a corner. Young delivers it into the box but Bednarek clears it away.

90+3 mins: A bit of possession from Southampton is followed by James running down the left wing at Cedric, he beats him for pace and miscues his cross into the box. Cedric goes down and stays down.
The medics come on to look at him and Ashley Young argues that Cedric isn't hurt but is time-wasting.
