From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Follow the latest updates live from the first Old Firm derby of the season as Rangers host Celtic at Ibrox.

The two fierce rivals meet locked on nine points each at the top of the Scottish Premiership, winning all three of their matches so far this season to put them clear of the rest of the league. Having won their last two meetings, Rangers are looking to strengthen their title credentials with a third consecutive derby win, but Celtic are looking to claim a ninth consecutive Premiership this season.

Steven Gerrard has sprung something of a surprise by preferring Jermain Defoe up front ahead of Alfredo Morelos, while Celtic hand Fraser Forster his second start in goal. Since his move from Southampton. Follow the live updates below.

When does it start?

Rangers vs Celtic kicks off at midday on Sunday 1 September.

Where can I watch it?

The Old Firm derby will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football from 11:30am.

Rangers 0-1 Celtic

88 minutes

Ntcham sets Hayes free down the left and he drills a low ball across the face of goal. Goldson does well to slide in and clear to deny Edouard a tap in.

Rangers 0-1 Celtic

We finally have a booking, and it's as blatant as you'll ever see. Arfield very nearly pulls Ntcham's shorts off as he tries to race away on the break.

Rangers 0-1 Celtic

It's getting a little heated now. Hayes sees yellow for squaring up to Morelos. Rangers have another free kick...

Rangers 0-1 Celtic

90+1 minutes

Celtic clear the set piece yet again. But the ball is played back into the box and Christie's attempted clearance loops into the air. Goldson's header trickles wide of the far post and there's a cry of anguish from the home fans. We're into six minutes of added time.

GOAL! Rangers 0-2 Celtic (Hayes)

90+3 minutes

Celtic seal the points! Rangers are left exposed at the back and Ntcham sets Hayes clear on goal. The substitute's first effort is saved, but he gets to the rebound first and slots the ball into an empty net. The away fans are sent into raptures!

Rangers 0-2 Celtic (Hayes)

90+6 minutes

A stupid tackles from Jones, who flies in recklessly on Bauer and sees red. Gerrard doesn't look happy, and understandably so.

Full time: That's it! Celtic have a long-awaited Old Firm victory at Ibrox. And it was a disciplined and professional performance to move three points clear of their rivals at the top of the early standings.
