Paris Saint-Germain are taking on Barcelona tonight at the Parc des Princes aiming to clinch their place in the Champions League quarter-finals. PSG won the first leg 4-1 at the Camp Nou thanks to a Kylian Mbappe hat-trick and are in pole position to finish off the tie and book their spot in the last eight.

Barcelona will have ambitions over pulling off another famous comeback like they did against the same opponents four years ago in the knockout stages of this competition, when they won 6-1 at the Camp Nou to turn around a 4-0 deficit. However, this time it feels even more unlikely given the how impressive PSG were in the first leg and given their is no raucous home crowd to cheer them on. Manager Ronald Koeman says anything is possible with Lionel Messi in the team, but surely this game is a step too far even for the great man.

FULL-TIME: PSG 1-1 BARCELONA

That’s it! PSG progress into the quarter-finals despite a valiant effort from Barcelona. It might have been different has the visitors taken one of their many chances in the first half. Messi, having scored a screamer, missed a penalty just before the break and PSG defended more resolutely from then on. In the end, the tie was decided at the Camp Nou.

Chance! Barcelona are left exposed as they commit players forward and Icardi sets Mbappe away. He beats Lenglet with a step over and finds himself one on one with Ter Stegen. But the finish is wild, blazed over the bar with his left foot.

Barcelona still needed to score three goals 87 minutes into their famous 2017 comeback against PSG. Still possible, then...

Trincao, who’s been lively since coming on, cuts the ball back from the right. Pjanic lays it into the path of Griezmann, who curls a shot just over the bar. It’s not happening.
