Manchester United fell to Crystal Palace as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side began their Premier League campaign one week late on Saturday.

Palace took the lead through Andros Townsend after just seven minutes, and they doubled their advantage on 74 minutes when Wilfried Zaha netted a re-take from the penalty spot after David de Gea stepped off his line when saving Jordan Ayew’s initial effort.

United debutant Donny van de Beek came off the bench to pull one back for the hosts, but Zaha bagged his brace with five minutes remaining at Old Trafford to put the result beyond doubt. Re-live all the updates below:

45+4 mins: Half time then with Crystal Palace leading. Ayew gets a shot off in the box and David De Gea strongly shoves the ball over the bar. Good save.
