From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool's title destiny may still be out of their hands but they refuse to submit, with the 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield Town a reminder they are ready to pounce should Manchester City slip up.
The gap between top - the place occupied by Jurgen Klopp's side after this victory - and bottom could not have been more glaring as the visitors were outclassed at Anfield.
City, now two points behind with a game in hand, face a potentially tricky trip to Burnley knowing they cannot afford a mistake at this late stage of the campaign,
The relegated Terriers did themselves no favours after allowing Naby Keita to score after just 16 seconds, Liverpool's quickest Premier League goal and their 100th in all competitions this season. Relive all the action below:

A moment to remember Tommy Smith, the 'Anfield Iron', ahead of kick-off.
Huddersfield have their own Tommy Smith tonight, starting at right-back.
A lovely tribute, teammates and family members shown in the crowd to warm applause, followed by a period of silence.
GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Huddersfield (Naby Keita, 1 minute)
15 SECONDS!
That's awful. Just plain awful from Huddersfield.
The ball is fed into Jon Gorenc Stankovic, sitting on the edge of his box, who takes an absolute age dithering over the next pass, eventually knocking the ball straight to Mohamed Salah under pressure from Naby Keita.
Salah composes himself, plays in Keita, who somewhat scuffs his shot but it still has just enough pace to beat Jonas Lossl to his right, and enough cut as it skips over the surface to go in off the inside of the post.
4 minutes
A ridiculous week for early goals, Shane Long's seven-seconder nearly challenged.
Huddersfield have actually responded well, and win a corner that Juninho Bacuna will take.
It skips into Jordan Henderson's chest with nary a teammate in sight.
5 minutes
If anything the premature nature of that goal has disrupted Liverpool's opening. They would have expected to have to bash down the door rather than have it flung open for them.
A couple of poor early giveaways in possession, and Isaac Mbenza has another sighter at goal for Huddersfield, failing to capitalise on alarming space with a rushed side-footed volley that Virgil Van Dijk blocks.
7 minutes
A very, very odd feel to the opening exchanges after the opener. Huddersfield are playing a 4-5-1 with Jon Gorenc Stankovic sitting very deep in midfield, and they are managing to threaten Liverpool's width with Karlan Grant and Isaac Mbenza.
9 minutes
Juninho Bacuna wins a free kick as Sadio Mane mistimes his challenge.
The Dutchman has lost every game he's played this season, but he has a great attitude. Bacuna Matata...
10 minutes
Erik Durm knows Jurgen Klopp better than most in Huddersfield blue and white, having spent time under the German at Borussia Dortmund. He and Karlan Grant are threatening to overload Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Mohamed Salah somewhat shirking his defensive responsibilities.
At the other end, Jordan Henderson's inside pass to an underlapping Alexander-Arnold thumps against the right-back's thigh and rolls away for a goal kick.
12 minutes
Dejan Lovren has taken a bang to the head as Steve Mounie is over eager in an aerial challenge trying to get on the end of a rather nicely whipped cross from Tommy Smith. Foul given.
