From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Leeds United beat Fulham in the Premier League this afternoon in a dramatic clash at Elland Road.

Both newly-promoted sides were looking to bounce back from opening-weekend defeats, and it was the hosts who found themselves on the right side of a 4-3 thriller following last weekend’s defeat by Liverpool.

Helder Costa put Marcelo Bielsa’s side ahead early before Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised from the spot. A penalty followed up the other end, however, with Mateusz Klich also netting. Costa scored his second of the day in the latter half before Bamford added Leeds’ fourth, and although Bobby Decordova-Reid’s strike and a second for Mitrovic set up a dramatic finish, the hosts emerged with the win. Re-live all the live updates:
