Marcelo Biela’s side enjoyed a promising start on their return to the top flight, however, back-to-back defeats prior to the international break served a reminder of the challenges to come. Ten points from eight games is hardly disastrous, though, and in Patrick Bamford Leeds boast one of England’s most prolific strikers on current form.

For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. They begin the game in 14th place and need a strong series of results to bolster their top four credentials. Follow all the action below live:

Leeds had 13 attempts on goal in the first half. That’s the most of any Premier League side in the first 45 minutes of a game this season.
Despite that only two shots were on target which is probably the reason Arsenal are still in this game.

45 mins: Half time. Leeds have been the better side. They’ve pushed Arsenal back and created the best chances but they haven’t been able to find a way through.
Mikel Arteta will be happy to go into the break on level terms but changes are needed from the Arsenal manager.

42 mins: Pepe brings the ball in from the right wing and has a dart at goal with his left peg. It starts wide and goes wider. No trouble at all for Meslier.

39 mins: Another opportunity goes begging for Leeds. The interplay from the home side in the midfield is crisp and quick. The ball is worked out to Harrison on the left and he brings the ball to the box before passing it inside for Klich. He shoots but puts it wide.

36 mins: Ayling bombs forward for Leeds down the right wing. Phillips spots the run and sends a cross field ball his way but it’s behind the right back and goes out for an Arsenal throw in.

30 mins: Phillips plays a short corner into the box. Harrison collects and passes it back to him. Phillips pulls it to the edge of the box but Pepe nips in and intercepts.
Leeds win it back and work it out to Ayling on the right. He squares it and Gabriel’s clearance only comes to Bamford. He shoots and the shot goes through the legs of the defender but Leno dives to his right and palms the shot away.

27 mins: Close again from Raphinha. Leeds sweep forward on the counter attack. Alioski receives the ball out on the left and he passes it inside. Raphinha looks set to take a touch but instead he whips the ball at goal and narrowly misses to the left of the near post.
