The Gunners opened the scoring through Alexandre Lacazette, who headed home after a chipped cross from fellow forward and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, before Michail Antonio stabbed home an equaliser on the cusp of half-time.
Arsenal substitute Eddie Nketiah sealed the win for the hosts, however, striking with five minutes remaining to break West Ham hearts. Re-live all the updates here:
27 mins: Mitrovic is being forced to drop deep as Leeds pile the pressure on Fulham’s back line. The home side aren’t creating much though.
24 mins: The ball comes over the top for Bamford but Odoi chases him down and puts the ball out for a corner. The corner is whipped into Koch who heads the ball at goal only for Areola to tip it over the bar.
21 mins: Anguissa lines up a shot from range and lets fly but Cooper runs him down and blocks it. Good defending from the Leeds skipper.
18 mins: Onomah tries to take the ball away from Phillips and brings him down. Leeds have a free kick to the right of the box. Phillips whips it into the box and Areola punches it away.
12 mins: Fulham win a corner and Cavaleiro swings it into the box, Hector gets his head to the ball but Koch gets in the way and deflects it out for another corner.
Bryan takes this one and Bamford heads it behind. Bryan resets and delivers it. Meslier punches the ball as far as Reed and his shot from the edge of the box goes wide.
9 mins:Great start from Leeds but Fulham are trying to get something going. They’ve picked out Mitrovic up top on a couple of occasions but he’s been closed down quickly and hasn’t been allowed to shoot.
Leeds 1 - 0 Fulham - Helder Costa
5 mins: GOAL! Helder Costa wins a corner for Leeds after the free kick comes to nothing. Phillips whips the ball to the far post where Costa is waiting. He brings the ball down unchallenged and smokes one with his left foot. The shot hits the underside of the bar and goes into the back of the net.
3 mins: Cavaleiro attempts to run across the box and set up a shot but Klich skilfully takes the ball off him. Fulham regain possession and play it up to Mitrovic, Cooper gives him a little shove and gives away a free kick.
Kick off: It’s a big day for Leeds United who are playing their first home game in the Premier League for 16 years. Marcelo Bielsa was forced into a late change as Pable Hernandez injured himself in the warm up. New signing Rodrigo comes in to replace him.
Fulham start the match with a ball up to Mitrovic. He’ll need to have a good season if they want to remain in the Premier League.
