Hello and welcome along to live coverage of the north London derby! Arsenal vs Tottenham is usually a fun one and last season's corresponding fixture was certainly one to remember, as the Gunners came through with a 4-2 win. Here's the latest Arsenal team news ahead of the game:
Yesterday's transfer news from the Arsenal camp:
Arsenal have sold left back Nacho Monreal to Real Sociedad and loaned Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny to Besiktas for the rest of the season.
Monreal ends his 6 1/2-year stay at Arsenal after joining from Malaga and making 251 appearances. He was facing competition for his place from summer signing Kieran Tierney, who is currently injured, and Sead Kolasinac.
Elneny has played 89 times for Arsenal since moving from Basel in 2016.
Arsenal announced both departures on Saturday.
The teams!
Arsenal: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, David Luiz, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Torreira, Xhaka (C), Pepe, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Tottenham: Lloris (C), Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Lamela, Son, Kane
Team news
So Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette will all start a game for Arsenal for the first time when they face Tottenham this afternoon in the north London derby. They will be up against Jan Vertonghen, the surprise selection in Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham team, having been left out of the side for the season’s opening games.
Unai Emery has the edge in this particular managerial rivalry over the last few years.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery:
Matches like last week against Liverpool, this week against Tottenham, they are the two teams who played the final of the Champions League. It's amazing and is the best test.
Every time is a good time to play against them with our supporters. Maybe this match on Sunday is the best match in the world [this weekend] for all football supporters."
There's an obvious area of the pitch for Arsenal to exploit today, particularly given the quality of their front three. Davinson Sanchez is starting at right back for Spurs, a position he is not entirely familiar with. It'll be interesting to see how he copes this afternoon.
