Chelsea travelled to Amsterdam where they beat Ajax in the Champions League to claim a major scalp.

Frank Lampard’s side were defeated by Valencia in their opening Group H fixture but recovered with a gritty away win at Lille to restore the club’s hopes of advancing to the knockout stages.

And they added a huge three points to their haul with an impressive and mature display from Frank Lampard's young side.

N’golo Kante and Ross Barkley have been ruled out of the fixture, however, Callum Hudson-Odoi is in line to make his first Champions League start. Starlet Billy Gilmour has also travelled to Amsterdam.

Ajax have no fresh concerns, however, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar may drop out of the starting eleven that defeated RKC Waalwijk on the weekend. Nico Tagliafico returns from suspension.

Lamptey is replaced with Iling as he hasn't recovered from a knock in the first half. 

Lewis is clipped with a high boot from Warmerdam who is shown a yellow card.

54 mins: Tasci runs the ball to the edge of the box on the right and passes it wide for Timber on the overlap. Timber puts the ball into the box but Guehi is there to head the ball clear.

Broja wins a corner for Chelsea at the other end of the pitch. Musampa mops up for Ajax as the ball comes over the top of everyone.

Rasmussen whips it in and hits the side netting.

Ajax win the ball back and send Douglas free on the left wing again. He crosses the ball as De Waal runs into the box. Ziger watches the ball closely and makes his move to catch the ball.

72 mins: Ballo puts a high ball into the far side of the box. The debutante Iling meets it on the volley and passes it to the Ajax goalkeeper. I think he was trying to square the ball but got his angles wrong. 

Ajax win another corner that is headed away by Mola.

For Chelsea Colwill comes on for Simons.

Pynadath gets into the action straight away as he runs onto a ball over the top and wins a corner.
