Follow live coverage as Leicester City face Tottenham Hotspur today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Both sets of players are back out, and we are underway once more at the King Power. Leicester have won just one of their last 13 Premier League games in which they've conceded first (D3 L9), defeating Wolves 2-1 in April 2023. Can the Foxes improve here?

Postecoglou's only complaint will be that Spurs are not further ahead, and almost out of sight at Leicester. The away side managed 10 shots in the first half, five of those on target, on the way to accumulating 0.63 expected goals (xG). That unsurprisingly makes a mockery of the Foxes' 0.06 xG, an optimistic De Cordova-Reid effort from near the halfway line. Tottenham are in full control, with a 75.5% chance of victory according to Opta's live predictions. It could be a long way back for Cooper's men if there are no improvements soon.

Utter domination. Spurs head into half-time leading Leicester 1-0, though the King Powers hosts are fortunate to still be in this clash at all. Solanke twice tested Hermansen, who was forced into three early saves before Porro eventually broke the deadlock. The visiting full-back steered home Maddison's left-sided cross after 29 minutes, a deserved reward for the showing from Postecoglou's side.

Perhaps to the relief of the Foxes, half-time is almost upon us at the King Power. There will be just one minute of additional time.

Corner number nine for Tottenham goes towards the far post from Maddison. This one is a bit wayward, however, and Faes slams clear. Leicester force the visitors all the way back to Vicario, which seems to impress the home crowd – they clearly haven't had much to cheer about yet.

Another corner for the visitors as the ball sails out following a challenge between Sarr and De Cordova-Reid. Maddison, now receiving applause from his former supporters, whips towards the near post before a clearance almost finds Solanke. Ndidi is there to help out, though, and it will be another Spurs set-piece.

Porro is in some pain near the right-hand touchline, seemingly holding his chest, or lower-rib air. De Cordova-Reid appears to have caught the right-back with a late arm, but Spurs' scorer is fine to continue.

Udogie somehow escapes a caution for a deliberate pull on the shirt of Buonanotte. The loanee was racing over the halfway line, and the Spurs full-back can count himself fortunate with that decision.

The only positive Cooper can take from his maiden match in charge of Leicester is that his side are not completely out of the game yet. Spurs have thoroughly outclassed their opponents, but without another goal, the Foxes are still within touching distance.
