Everton beat Ipswich 2-0 at Portman Road to secure their first away victory of the Premier League season and leave the Tractor Boys still looking for a maiden win since sealing promotion.

The visitors were clinical with their finishing as Iliman Ndiaye scored in the 17th minute and Michael Keane doubled the Toffees’ advantage five minutes before the break.

Ipswich had wasted a golden opportunity to take the lead through Jack Clarke but he skied his effort high over the bar and they were also denied a first-half penalty when referee Michael Oliver was called to the VAR screen to reverse his initial decision.

Aro Muric was by far the busiest of the two goalkeepers while Everton’s England stopper Jordan Pickford was troubled very little throughout as the well-drilled Everton defence held firm.

Everton pick up their first away win of the season with an impressive 2-0 win against Ipswich at Portman Road. A chaotic start led to both sides spurning glorious chances, with Clarke skying an effort from close-range and Calvert-Lewin being denied by goalkeeper Muric when through on goal. Everton took the lead after Ndiaye capitalised on a poor mistake from Burns to fire home. Ipswich thought they had found a way back into the match after Clarke was fouled in the penalty area, with referee Michael Oliver initially awarding the penalty. However, VAR overturned the decision after replays showed he had slipped and made contact with McNeil himself. Keane doubled the lead with a fantastic finish close to half-time, which ultimately knocked the stuffing out of Ipswich. The second half was a more measured affair, with neither side having many chances and Everton looking solid at the back. Sean Dyche's men generated an xG of 1.74 to Ipswich's 1.27. Ipswich are still without a league win and next travel to Brentford, while Everton host Fulham. Thank you and see you next time!

In virtually the last action of the match, Harrison plays through Calvert-Lewin one-on-one with Muric but once again the keeper stands tall and saves well from the striker. He's had his chances in front of goal but the England international will not cap off an impressive performance with a goal.
