From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Spain produced a Cardiff masterclass to stun Wales and send a warning shot to Nations League rivals England.

Luis Enrique's stylish side strolled to a 4-1 victory on a night when Wales returned to the 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium for the first time in seven-and-a-half years.

Paco Alcacer, with a brace, and Sergio Ramos scored inside 29 minutes before substitute Marc Bartra added a fourth with a towering second-half header.

Sam Vokes headed a consolation a minute from time but it was a sobering evening for Ryan Giggs' side ahead of their Nations League game against the Republic of Ireland.

At the other end, Wayne Hennessey is firmly behind Rodrigo's drive and is up quickly to gather Jonny's headed follow-up.

WALES HAVE A GOAL! SAM VOKES HEADS IN DAVID BROOKS' CLEVER CROSS!

That really is a magnificent ball from David Brooks, who has been comfortably Wales' best player since coming on.

Brooks hits his cross from the right trivela style with his left-foot, bending the ball beyond the Spain defence to Vokes' head and the ball bounces in via a Spanish defender's back. The fans in the Principality Stadium don't care about the score and erupt as Vokes wheels away in celebration.

That is the final notable action, and Spain secure a 4-1 friendly win. Two goals from Paco Alcacer and a pair of centre-half headers earn the visitors an impressive victory, with Rodri starring in midfield.

Sam Vokes notched a late consolation for the hosts.
