From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Real Madrid eased to a 4-1 win over Al Ain to claim a fourth Club World Cup on Saturday.

Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric and Marcos Llorente scored from outside the area, and Sergio Ramos added a late goal to lead the European champions to the world title.

Madrid, who have won the last three Champions Leagues, also won the Club World Cup in 2014, 2016, and 2017.

Again, somehow it is still just one. Two corners create two further opportunities from Madrid, but this time it is the brilliance of Eissa who keeps the score as it is.

The keeper first tips over Gareth Bale's header from Toni Kroos' corner, before parrying a powerful Luka Modric volley from the subsequent corner.

45 min: Real Madrid 1-0 Al Ain

It wouldn't be a Real Madrid game without a Sergio Ramos yellow card, and it arrives just before the break for the Spaniard, which is the first of the game.

Half Time: Real Madrid 1-0 Al Ain

It's the 2018 Ballon d'or Winner who separates the sides at the moment.

His superb curler inside 15 minutes has given the 2016 and 2017 winners the lead here.

Al Ain had a couple of chances early on, including a glorious opportunity for Hussein ElShahat who was denied by a block from Sergio Ramos.

However, Madrid have slowly started to assert their dominance and if Real get a second it could prove to be a long night for the UAE side.

A debate seems to be brewing too. Where do you stand?

51 min: Real Madrid 1-0 Al Ain

Bale tries to recreate his unbelievable goal in last season's Champions League final, and it very nearly comes off again.

Luka Modric breaks the Al Ain defence, and after Lucas Vazquez's effort is headed up into the air by the Al Ain defence, the Welshman tries the spectacular that goes just over the bar this time.
