Antoine Griezmann scored twice in the second half as world champions France came from behind to beat Germany 2-1 in their Nations League clash and increase the pressure on Joachim Low.
Germany looked to have produced the required response from a 3-0 defeat in Holland on Saturday, which left them in danger of relegation, as Toni Kroos slotted in a penalty just before the break.
Les Bleus, though, regrouped following the restart, as Griezmann equalised just after the hour with a well-taken looping header.
The Atletico Madrid frontman then kept his cool to convert from the spot with 10 minutes left following a somewhat controversial penalty.
It was a sixth defeat in the past 10 games for Low's squad, who crashed out of the group stages at the World Cup in Russia and remain bottom of their Nations League table with just one point from three matches.
France, meanwhile, look set to progress as winners of Group One, now they are four points clear of Holland.
Elsewhere, Harry Wilson curled home a stunning free-kick as Ryan Giggs' Welsh understudies made light of the absence of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey to deepen the Republic of Ireland's woes.
The Derby winger left keeper Darren Randolph rooted to the spot as his 58th-minute strike secured a 1-0 Nations League victory for Wales.
The result piled the pressure on Ireland boss Martin O'Neill amid boos on the final whistle at the Aviva Stadium.

France 0-1 Germany, 19 minutes
France's defence are entirely in the German half and that allows Leroy Sane in behind. The equally quick Timo Werner charges forward to join him and should really be found, but Sane's ball is too close to Hugo Lloris who is out quickly. A slight misjudgement of the track of the ball nearly gets the goalkeeper in bother but he sprawls to palm away.
France 0-1 Germany, 21 minutes
Poor effort from Paul Pogba. 25 yards out, he completely mishits an attempted drive and it slices wide.
Ireland 0-0 Wales, 21 minutes
Little in the way of goalmouth action at the Aviva Stadium through the first twenty minutes or so.
France 0-1 Germany, 23 minutes
A Toni Kroos corner causes havoc and Matthias Ginter eventually diverts it towards goal.
Hugo Lloris was already committed and is fortunate that Ginter's touch takes the ball right into his path and the French captain can turn the ball round the post. Germany on top and pressing for a second goal.
Ireland 0-0 Wales, 24 minutes
An Iceland-style Thunderclap echoes around the Aviva Stadium, which is perhaps indicative of how the crowd has enjoyed this game so far.
It hasn't been the best. Neither side has produced anything of quality and the only chance came from a Wales error.
France 0-1 Germany, 29 minutes
Matthias Ginter cynically scythes Antoine Griezmann to floor and is duly booked. France free-kick wide on the left.
France 0-1 Germany, 30 minutes
It is poor and Griezmann is forced to perform some defensive duties as Germany counter at pace.
Germany's three forward-most players (Werner, Sane, Gnabry) are very quick and they are worrying the France defence again before Griezmann flicks Leroy Sane's cross to safety.
Ireland 0-0 Wales, 30 minutes
More of the same in Dublin. Both teams are relatively comfortable moving the ball in defence and midfield but are unable to find the incision required to breakdown either defence.
France 0-1 Germany, 35 minutes
Matthias Ginter rises mightily to meet Toni Kroos' out swinger and could perhaps do better, heading over-the-top with little opposition a couple of yards beyond the six yard box.
