The 2023/24 Premier League season is under way and you can follow every game and every goal right here with The Independent.

This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Fulham vs Nottingham Forest

Jimenez and Iwobi scored twice to help Fulham thrash Forest 5-0 at Craven Cottage. Origi went close to netting his first Forest goal, but he curled a low shot from outside the box around the post. Fulham controlled the rest of the match and scored the opening goal in style. Their quick counter was finished by Iwobi, who got on the end of Willian’s cross from the left to tap in. The Cottagers then doubled their advantage four minutes later. Pereira rolled a pass into Jimenez, who thumped his effort into the top corner. The former Wolves man scored again after the break to net his first brace since January 2020. Jimenez pushed away Aina and dribbled past Vlachodimos before backheeling his shot into an open goal. Iwobi then added his second and Fulham's fourth. Wilson's cutback from the right went straight to him, with Iwobi having the easiest of finishes from close range. Captain Cairney then scored the final goal to complete the route. He made the most of a mistake in the Forest defence and curled his strike past Vlachodimos. Next up, Fulham host West Ham, with Forest travelling to Wolves. That's all for today, goodbye.
