From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The FA Cup remains in full swing with six more games to be played today.

Cardiff welcome fellow Championship side Fulham to the Cardiff City Stadium to kick Sunday's procedures off.

That game is followed by Liverpool vs Plymouth Argyle at 1.30pm. With just one major upset from Saturday's results, with Millwall claiming a surprise 3-0 over Bournemouth, Derek Adams' men have the opportunity to pull off what would arguably be one of the biggest shock wins of the tournament yet.

Chelsea vs Peterborough and Middlesbrough vs Sheffield Wednesday follows at 3.00pm before Tottenham round-up today's action as they take on Aston Villa at 4.00pm.

GAME UPDATE

CHELSEA 3 - 1  PETERBOROUGH

The visitors pull one back, with Nichols burying an easy strike from the far post.  Can this ignite a comeback? We'll see.

Villa continue to pressure Tottenham in possession, but they remain looking second best at the moment,

A Tottenham corner goes into the box, but Dier fails to connect with the strike and it falls softly for Johnstone to collect.

Sissoko delivers the ball to Davies on the overlap, but the delivery into the box can only find a Villa shirt. Pochettino's men look desperate for a goal before the interval, but can they do it?

Tottenham continue to pass the ball around, but their efforts continue to be unrewarded. They press up the pitch, but their attacks are predictable as the wing-backs continue to predict the diagonal balls.

Janssen delivers the ball through to Son, but Amavi comes flying in to defend the danger. However, the deflection from the Villa man nearly drives the ball into the back of his own net. That would have been a tragic end to the half for Bruce's men.

HALF TIME

The whistle blows exactly on the 45-minute mark, with no additional time this half.

It was an incredibly shaky start for both clubs, with neither side looking able to find their feet and make a real impact on the game. Spurs look ponderous on the ball and are tending to run out of ideas in the final third. Villa are defending well, but aside from that there is very little no applaud.

We should be expecting significant improvements for both clubs in the second half.

FT MIDDLESBROUGH 3 - 0 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

Aston Villa kick off to begin the second half.

Game on!

Winks drives into Villa's half but the attack deflates and in a similar fashion to the first half, Spurs reverse the run of play and send the ball back to their defence.
