From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Frank Lampard's Derby scored two own goals as Chelsea earned a hard-fought 3-2 Carabao Cup win at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's record goalscorer was serenaded throughout a night which must have felt all the more surreal because of the way the fourth-round match unfolded.

Lampard must have sensed an opportunity missed as Derby conceded three times in the first half and could only reply twice, exiting as Chelsea advanced to the quarter-finals.

Chelsea vs Derby

26 mins: Chelsea 2 - 2 Derby - Waghorn

The last time Frank Lampard faced Derby at Stamford Bridge he scored 4 goals for Chelsea. Tonight his Derby side has scored 4 goals, sadly they've gifted two of them to Chelsea.

Another equaliser for Derby, they win a couple of throw ins on the left wing before Mason Mount finds some space to deliver a low cross in front of goal. It beats all the defenders and Waghorn meets it at the far post for an easy tap in.

Chelsea score this time courtesy of a beautiful finish by Cesc Fabregas. Fabregas plays the ball into the box and Willian flicks it trying to find Zappacosta on the overlap. The ball comes off a defender and Loftus-Cheek keeps it alive. He crosses it and it's deflected into Fabregas' path and he makes no mistakes in putting the ball into the back of the net.

Arsenal vs Blackpool

Arsenal 2 - 1 Blackpool

Blackpool have a goal disallowed. Petr Cech tries to play out from the back and is tackled by Jay Spearing before the ball comes to Nathan Delfouneso who puts it in the back of the net.

But he's offside and the Gunners have a huge let off.
