The Arsenal manager has traditionally treated this competition as a chance to blood his promising youngsters.
But with a burgeoning first team squad and several senior players still searching for form and fitness, it looks like he will be picking his B-team rather than his U19s.

"Calum Chambers will be involved against Doncaster,” the Frenchman confirmed this week. “Jack Wilshere is involved too. Mesut [Ozil] is training again, but [he will not feature]. He has a little inflammation of his knee.
"Danny [Welbeck] had a scan, we don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break. Coquelin as well. Debuchy is coming back slowly."

Jack Wilshere. The England international has endured a tough time of late, with a broken leg towards the end of last season ruining the last of his loan spell at Bournemouth and hampering his pre-season. Nevertheless, Wenger still has faith in the midfielder and with Arsenal’s midfield spots still looking up for grabs, some strong performances in cup competition could see him come back into contention.

Reiss Nelson. The 17-year-old is the latest in a long line of promising youngsters to come through the Arsenal academy with huge hopes for the future. The forward has earned the backing of his more senior colleagues and fans of the club have huge expectations for him following several eye-catching performances for the youth teams. He now needs to prove he can live up to the hype.

GOAL! Manchester United 1-0 Burton Albion (Marcus Rashford, 5 min)
Well that didn't take long... The ball was played into the feet of Lingard who, with his back turned to goal and under pressure from the Burton defence, laid the ball off into the path of Rashford to his left. From a matter of seven yards out the Englishman drilled the ball into the back of the net to hand United an early lead. Bread-and-butter stuff.

Update from the Emirates: Arsenal 0-0 Doncaster
It's been all Arsenal since that early bright start for the visitors. Doncaster are putting up an admirable resistance but there is a sense that it will only be a matter of time before the deadlock is broken.
GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 Doncaster (Walcott)
Just as we were saying it had been coming… Theo Walcott opens the scoring for Arsenal but it was all thanks to a delightful ball over the top from Alexis Sanchez. The Chile forward sent a diagonal from the left side of the box and found Walcott in space behind the Doncaster defence and the England man had a simple finish when one on one with the keeper.
Update from Old Trafford:
A corner for Burton which is whipped in from the left. It's swung in to the back post and Romero is on hand to deal with it... or is he? The keeper flaps at it and can only send the ball upwards before it falls dangerously back towards his goaline. A scramble ensues but the danger is quickly cleared. United still lead by one goal.
GOAL! Manchester United 2-0 Burton Albion (Marcus Rashford, 17 min)
The young lad is at it again. With a sweet right-footed shot from outside the Burton box, Rashford picks out the bottom left corner with a delicious strike. Assist by Daley Blind.
Meanwhile at the Hawthorns... WBA 0-1 Man City
The visitors continue to hold their lead, earned early on through Leroy Sane's left-footed strike and have had the better chances since.
Update from Old Trafford:
Jose Mourinho's men are in full control as they set about finding their third. After hitting the post moments earlier with a low-driven shot, Juan Mata tries his luck with another effort on goal. He fires it straight and true down the throat of Ripley but the Burton goalkeeper deals with it well. United lead 2-0.
