From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Martyn Waghorn broke Accrington hearts as Frank Lampard saw his Derby side sneak through a tricky FA Cup fourth-round assignment.

Having dispatched of Southampton in the previous round and Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, the Championship play-off hopefuls were looking to avoid being on the wrong end of an upset in front of a record-breaking Wham Stadium crowd.

"We spy a giant killing" read the banner unfurled by Stanley fans before kick-off - a cheeky nod to the recent controversy involving Leeds - but Dan Barlaser's second-half sending off eventually told as Waghorn secured a late 1-0 win.

Draw: 5/2

69 min: Accrington Stanley 0-0 Derby County

Derby haven't quite capitalised on their numerical advantage, with the hosts seemingly having plugged the hole down the left that Bennett and Malone were exploiting.

Meanwhile, Kee has another huge chance, but his free header goes agonisingly wide of the far post. He should do better.

72 min: Accrington Stanley 0-0 Derby County

Excellent play from David Nugent, who flicks a long ball into the path of Harry Wilson, but his chip does not quite have the trajectory to beat the keeper.

And that is the Liverpool loanee's last action, as he is replaced by Florian Jozefzoon.

77 min: Accrington Stanley 0-0 Derby County

John Coleman still frustrated by earlier proceedings clearly and a foul by Donacien draws another reaction from the Stanley manager, and he gets a talking to from John Moss.

GOAL! Accrington Stanley 0-1 Derby County (Waghorn 78')

Superb run from Duane Holmes after a one-two from a corner, but the challenge on the American falls nicely for Waghorn who scrappily prods home despite Maxted's best efforts.

83 min: Accrington Stanley 0-1 Derby County

Stanley have responded relatively well since going behind and have penned Derby back into their half.

Coleman makes a couple of changes as well, with Callum Johnson and Janoi Donacien off for Scott Brown and new signing Paul Smyth.

Yellow card for Jayden Bogle after a challenge on Smyth.

88 min: Accrington Stanley 0-1 Derby County

The Accrington free-kick turns into a Derby counter very quickly, and Maxted stays big to deny Bennett after Holmes' surging run.

90+1 min: Accrington Stanley 0-1 Derby County

ANOTHER RED CARD! This time it is Jayden Bogle, who hauls back substitute Smyth just outside the box!

Can Stanley score a late dramatic equaliser?

90+1 min: Accrington Stanley 0-1 Derby County

WHAT A SAVE! Kee strikes the free-kick low and it needs an expert save from Roos down to his left to deny him.

90+3 min: Accrington Stanley 0-1 Derby County

Stanley get another free-kick for a high foot, but this time Kee can only hit the wall and with that the hosts' hope of progression look to have faded.
