This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Bogle races down the right with intent, getting into the box before laying a pass into Curtis, who smashes a first-time cross into the stands. It’s been a quiet debut for the youngster.

CHANCE! The Blades race forward on the counter, with Brereton-Diaz and Hamer combining before the former Coventry City man slides a pass down the right to Brewster. He looks to get involved immediately with a teasing cross into the box, but it goes just past Lowe and behind for a goal-kick.

They have only had one shot on target so far and not putting Everton under enough pressure. United keep giving the ball away too easily.

Brereton-Diaz makes the most of a loose ball in the midfield and drives forward with possession before finding Archer on the left. He looks to work space for a shot on the edge of the box but takes too long and is tackled by Gomes. The Blades retain the ball, but Hamer's effort from distance deflects off Tarkowski and goes wide of the right post.

The following Blades corner from the right is flicked towards Robinson, who unleashes a powerful drive that is headed behind. The next cross comes to nothing, but the visitors are enjoying another good spell without putting Pickford under any pressure.

Brereton-Diaz rolls a pass into Hamer, who turns in possession before finding Archer. The forward attempts to get a shot away on the edge of the box but is crowded out. Branthwaite then looks to play it back to Pickford but gives away a needless corner.

Everton make their first two changes. Doucoure hit the target with three of his four shots and has scored the only goal so far, but is now coming off for Dobbin.
