Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Pochettino has admitted he has made mistakes in regards to team selection this season. But it doesn't sound like he has any regrets about his team from the first leg.
"I believe in my squad and for one negative result now it has not changed my vision of them," he insisted.
"Sometimes it is difficult and I accept in a very good way the criticism because always in football if you win you are a genius, if not, you are a disaster.
"For me it is important to keep all players motivated. All players are important. It is not only to say it, it is important to show I believe in them.
"Sometimes we rotate, sometimes maybe I made a mistake. We analyse our decisions a lot. We can always do better and for that we are open to learn."

Marco Reus, who on song in the first leg, is adamant Dortmund would have come out on top even if Spurs had played their strongest team at Signal Iduna Park."I do believe that they took the game seriously. But we are currently in such good form that we would still have beaten their best team," said the Germany international.
"However, their team has other priorities. I think Tottenham are giving priority to winning the Premier League and you can’t blame them."
Guess the song on the WHL tannoy now. "It's the end of the financial year, and...?"

Barrett Strong - Money (That's What I Want)?
Mkhitaryan with a seldom error. Dortmund should have made more of that attack. Two players in wide open space.#TOTBVB

Solid Twitter handle from Mr. Buczko, by the way.
17 mins: Dier is penalised wide on the right and Dortmund have a chance to swing the ball into the box. Dier isn't happy one bit. It certainly looked like he won the ball at first viewing. The set piece comes to nothing and Spurs clear the ball to safety.
This game is lacking a bit of bite and is definitely suiting Dortmund rather than Spurs. The hosts need to take it up a notch.
18mins Reus's inswinging delivery from their left is stopped by @Dele_Alli and hacked clear by @trippier2. #COYS
