It’s a big game for…
Marcus Rashford: It’s almost a year to the day since the youngster broke into United’s first-team with that hat-trick against Midtjylland at the same stage of this competition.
Rashford’s progression has slowed somewhat, but following suggestions that Mourinho sees him as Ibrahimovic’s long-term replacement and a goal against Blackburn, he will enter this fixture confident.
Remember when…
These two sides previously met in the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1977. The leg in Saint-Etienne is remembered for violence in the stands, which was so bad, the return leg had to be played 400km away from Old Trafford, at Plymouth’s Home Park.

Saint-Etienne: 47/20
Manchester United: 11/9
Draw: 9/4
27 mins: Better from the home team. Pogba is mugged on the ball, guilty of over-playing it in his own-half, and suddenly Hamouma is running clear of Carrick down the right. But his looping cross into the box is atrocious, floating out of play over Romero's bar. A waste.
29 mins: United are sitting deeper after that injury to Mkhitaryan. They have the luxury of knowing they can pick Saint-Étienne off on the counter.
31 mins: Rashford with his first real involvement, dribbling at Malcuit before laying off Mata. But Pajot is alert to the danger and the home side clear. Malcuit immediately runs it out of play however, giving United a chance to sweep forward.
32 mins: Close! Ibrahimovic brings it forward and releases Ashley Young who fires the ball across goal looking for Rashford at the back stick. The youngster's run isn't quite quick enough though and the ball skids out for a goal-kick.
33 mins: Saint-Étienne have their best chance yet! Young's clearance from the edge of the box is woeful and the full-back pokes the ball directly into the path of Veretout, who is lurking around thirty yards out from the United goal. The midfielder strikes it well, but the ball fails to make it through the thicket of legs stood in front of Romero's goal and instead skids out for a throw.
Veretout stuck that really well - hard and low. It would have been interesting to see whether Romero would have got down in time to keep it out.
36 mins: Good work from Florentin Pogba who skips past Young and belts a low cross into the box, looking for Beric. But Smalling is on hand to belt it clear.
38 mins: Another good chance for the home side. Veretout strikes a deep free-kick nicely and the ball finds Perrin in space in the United penalty area. He gets a good connection on the ball, but wastefully directs his shot into the arms of Romero.
