From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Kylian Mbappe scored four goals as the 19-year-old five PSG to a convincing win over Lyon and helped set a new Ligue 1 record of nine wins from their first nine games. Re-live the action:

What time does it start?

PSG vs Lyon kicks off at 8:00pm (BST) on Sunday 7 October.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on BT Sport 1 from 7:45pm (BST).

BT Sport subscribers can also watch online via the BT Sport app.

Highlights will be shown at 5:00pm on Monday 8 October on BT Sport 1.

It’s a big game for…

Moussa Dembele: The Lyon striker, who signed from Celtic for £20m in the summer, joined the French club for these big occasions. The 22-year-old already has three goals to his name, but despite finding the scoresheet in the Champions League midweek, he missed a hatful of chances and can’t afford to do the same on Sunday if Lyon want to get a result at the champions.

Remember when…

Last season’s match between the two teams was a thriller. Dani Alves got sent-off with 30 minutes to go, and ex-Manchester United winger Memphis Depay scored a marvellous last-minute winner to shock the French heavyweights. PSG expectedly won the league title; Lyon finished last season in third.

Player to watch…

Neymar: The Brazilian, despite a lacklustre performance against Liverpool on matchday one of the Champions League, has already got 10 goals to his name in nine matches. The 26-year-old is always the main attraction at the Parc des Princes, and his scintillating hat-trick in midweek against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League means he goes into this match full of confidence. Lyon will not want to give away free-kicks within shooting range that much is for sure.

Past three-meetings…

Lyon 2 (Fekir, Depay) PSG 1 (Kurzawa), Ligue 1, January 2018

PSG 2 (Marcelo OG, Morel OG) Lyon 0, Ligue 1, September 2017

PSG 2 (Rabiot, Draxler) Lyon 1 (Lacazette), Ligue 1, March 2017

Odds…

PSG to win: 3/10

Lyon to win: 7/1

Draw: 19/4

(Odds provided by 888 Sport)

Valencia 1-1 Barcelona

72 minutes

Messi lines up a free kick on the edge of the box, and the crowd wait anxiously. But he hits the wall and Barcelona continue to look for a way through.

PSG 1-0 Lyon

52 minutes

A rapid counter attack ends with Mbappe striking the outside of the post, but PSG might have conceded a freak own goal at the other end. This has been a strange evening.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:19

Valencia 1-1 Barcelona

78 minutes

Barcelona are starting to dominate now. Valencia, who have worked hard throughout, are clearly beginning to tire. Can the visitors make this pressure count?

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:23

Valencia 1-1 Barcelona

80 minutes

Messi cuts inside from the left onto his right foot but can only find the side netting.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:27

GOAL! Mbappe hits a low shot, which strikes both posts and rolls over the line. That probably puts this game to bed.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:28

Valencia 1-1 Barcelona

87 minutes

Ousmane Dembele has replaced Coutinho, who had a frustrating evening. Barcelona have a few minutes to find a winner and avoid a fourth successive game without a win.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:31

GOAL! It's Mbappe again, and it's 3-0 PSG. Marquinhos squares for the Frenchman who taps into an empty net. That's well and truly game over.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:33

That's six league goals for Mbappe this season already. PSG are on their way to a ninth win from nine Ligue 1 games.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:35

Valencia 1-1 Barcelona

90 minutes

Two minutes of added time for Barcelona to find a winner.

Callum Rice-Coates7 October 2018 21:35

GOAL! HATTRICK FOR MBAPPE.
