From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal and helped set up the second as Juventus extended their unbeaten start in Serie A with a 2-0 win over promoted SPAL on Saturday.

Ronaldo's latest goal was his ninth in Serie A, matching Genoa's Krzysztof Piatek in the race for the golden boot.

The goal came near the half-hour mark when Ronaldo beat everyone to redirect in a free kick from Miralem Pjanic.

In the 60th, Ronaldo's pull back on the counterattack set up a shot for Douglas Costa, whose effort was swatted into the path of Mario Mandzukic who scored from the rebound.

Juventus moved nine points ahead of second-place Napoli, who host Chievo Verona on Sunday.

Player to watch…

Cristiano Ronaldo: The 33-year-old has not played for Portugal since they were knocked out at the last 16 stage of the World Cup by Uruguay, but he has been a regular figure in the Juventus side this season. From 12 appearances, the former Real Madrid man has scored eight goals and registered five assists, including a first goal at the San Siro in the 2-0 win over AC Milan last time out. With tough fixtures against Inter Milan and Roma coming up, the Old Lady will require Ronaldo to keep his goalscoring form up against SPAL.

10 min: Juventus 0-0 SPAL

Lazzarri looks like a real threat so far for SPAL. but his deflected cross is easily claimed by Perrin.

54 min: PSG 1-0 Toulouse

Big chance for a second for PSG, but Thomas Meunier heads over from point-blank range from di Maria's corner.

A big day for Mario Mandzukic.

11 min: Juventus 0-0 SPAL

Bit of confusion and everything else in Turin. Felipe puts the ball into his own net but the own goal is ruled out because Gomis' initial goal-kick did not exit the penalty area.

Juventus' players are furious but VAR is not consulted at it remains 0-0.

60 min: PSG 1-0 Toulouse

Not what you want to see from Julian Draxler. The German runs into the penalty area and appears to take an unnecessary tumble with little challenge from the defender.

Nothing given from the referee.

62 min: PSG 1-0 Toulouse

Another half chance for Toulouse. Man City loanee Manu Garcia is crowded out by the PSG defence but Kimpembe gifts the ball to Kalidou Sidibe, who fires over from just outside the box.

20 min: Juventus 0-0 SPAL

First save for Gomis to make and it comes after Douglas Costa wriggles away from a couple of defenders before firing towards the bottom corner.

23 min: Juventus 0-0 SPAL

Half-chance for the visitors now, but Jasmin Kurtic's long-range free-kick goes just wide of Mattia Perrin's near post.

Kishan Vaghela24 November 2018 17:27

69 min: PSG 1-0 Toulouse

Alain Casanova's side are giving this a really good go and Liverpool will be licking their lips at the sight of this open PSG defence. Nothing too concrete so far though for the visitors in terms of goal attempts.

There's also a change for the hosts, with Dani Alves replacing Thomas Meunier.

Kishan Vaghela24 November 2018 17:29

27 min: Juventus 0-0 SPAL

Douglas Costa looks like Juventus' best attacking outlet so far, and the Brazilian goes close again but fires wide of Gomis' right-hand post this time.
