Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The 232nd Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid will be held on Saturday 3 December at 3.15pm GMT at the Nou Camp, Barcelona.

Where can I watch it?

Unfortunately, it will not be shown on television in the UK.

You will, however, be able to follow The Independent’s live coverage on our blog.

Why is it not on TV?

It is illegal to broadcast live football matches on UK television between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturdays due to the potential impact on match attendances.

Ironically, the 3.15pm kick-off time was chosen in order to maximise the global television audience.

If you live elsewhere in the world, you can find information on where to watch the game here.

What does the league table look like?

Predictably, these two sit at the top of La Liga, but it’s the reigning Spanish champions who are playing catch up.

Barcelona are five points off Real Madrid, who remain unbeaten in all competitions under Zinedine Zidane this season.

Luis Enrique's side have already lost twice in the league, against Alaves and Celta Vigo, and suffered defeat to Manchester City in Champions League.

One of the more memorable Clasico's in recent years saw Barcelona's 39-game unbeaten run ended by a depleted Real Madrid at Nou Camp.

Cristiano Ronaldo's late strike granted victory to the visitors, who had seen Sergio Ramos pick up a customary red card just minutes earlier.

Gerard Pique's header had put Barça ahead, only for Karim Benzema to level with an acrobatic finish.

The three points did not help Real's wiltering title challenge but Los Blancos were spurred on the Champions League glory, which came against rivals Atletico in Milan a month later.

For Barcelona, Gomes exits his first Clasico early. Arda Turan comes on.

80 min: Final ten minutes, Messi has the chance to wrap it up but fires wide.

Iniesta's through ball is majestic but the little magician's shooting is off, with the ball glancing past the far post.

86 min: Almost 1-1!

Ramos rises to send a looping header that looks like it has the beating of Ter Stegen, but the ball lands on top of Barcelona's net.

GOAL! Barcelona 1 Real Madrid 1 (Ramos)

There's Madrid's equaliser and for the last few minutes, it has been coming.

Free-kick on the left, swung in, Ramos gets his head to the ball and atones for missing a few minutes ago. The ball thunders through Ter Stegen's finger tips.

90+3 min: Goal-line clearance! Casemiro nods a header off the line in the dying seconds.

Full-time: Barcelona 1 Real Madrid 1

Madrid's unbeaten record remains in tact. They were second-best at times, especially in the second half, but they leave the Nou Camp with a valuable point and maintain their six-point lead at the top of La Liga.

How Barcelona might rue Neymar firing over with the score at 1-0.
