Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping for a better end to tonight's game against Frosinone after he was sent off in Juventus' win against Valencia in the Champions League, something which could see him ruled out of their game at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are looking to make it five wins from five La Liga matches when they host Girona - a fixture that has controversially been tipped to be played in Miami next season.

Lionel Messi's side have started the season in great form and made light work of PSV in the opening game of their Champions League group.

The latest on La Liga's plans to go on holiday

President of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, revealed on Spanish radio that he will formally move to block the proposal, having called it an 'invasion' of the US, with the backing of governing bodies in charge of European and world football in the form of a letter sent to La Liga chief Javier Tebas.

8min: Frosinone 0-0 Juventus

It's been a pretty tepid start in Lazio by both sides. The host's joy has been restricted to winning a couple of free-kicks down Juve's right.

Ronaldo's involvement so far has seen him rolling around on the floor twice, but he should score a minute later but fails to get hold of Mandzukic's knock-down and Frosinone manage to clear.

12min: Frosinone 0-0 Juventus

The Old Lady are dominating possession as expected, but their final ball could do with some work, with Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro lacking in end product so far.
