Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Barcelona meet Lyon in the last 16 of the Champions League as the continue to chase a spectacular treble.

Barca came through the group stage undefeated, are top of La Liga and are into the Copa del Rey semi-finals, but they have been through mixed form in recent weeks.

Lyon managed to beat Manchester City in the group stages and will surely need a similar result here at home in order to come through the tie at the Camp Nou. Follow it live:

Eight goals in the Champions League so far for this man. Will Robert Lewandowski find the net tonight?

The Polish striker has five goals against English clubs in the Champions League (Arsenal 4, Manchester City 1).

Lewandowski will be buoyed by Liveprool's issues in the heart of the defence.

Joe Gomez is a long-term absentee and Dejan Lovren is not fit to play a part this evening. VIrigl Van Djik's suspension leaves Jurgen Klopp in a bit of a hole, with Fabinho likely to be called upon once more to deputise alongside Joel Matip.

The game at Anfield is not the only Champions League action of the evening.

Barcelona are in Lyon to face a side they have never lost to. With Lionel Messi desperate for another Champions League win and La Liga looking increasingly sewn up, the Catalans are preparing themselves for a serious tilt in this year's competition.

Lyon are a sticky opponent at this stage, however, and showed their quality in both group stage fixtures against Manchester City. Team news for both games will be here shortly...

A player with many strings to a very impressive bow, Joshua Kimmich is oft-mentioned as a player to build around as Bayern Munich look to the future. The versatile 24-year-old is expected to start at right-back tonight.
