Follow live coverage as Crystal Palace face Fulham today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Crystal Palace vs Fulham

It’s over in Selhurst, and the away team take all three points after what was a controlling second-half performance. The game started fairly evenly, with both sides coming close to opening the scoring. Nelson had an effort saved well by Henderson in the 15th minute before Guehi had a great chance to put Palace ahead. His header at the back post went agonisingly wide and that was the story of Palace’s afternoon. The score looked to be 0-0 at half-time, but Smith-Rowe latched onto the end of a Jimenez through ball after a Lacroix mistake and tucked his finish into the bottom-right corner. The score at half-time was 1-0 to Fulham, and the second half continued in largely the same fashion. Palace continued to miss chances, with Munoz, Mateta and Sarr all squandering opportunities to bring the game level. Fulham thought they had increased their lead in the 53rd minute, through Smith-Rowe again, but he was called offside by the VAR. Palace were then reduced to 10 men in the 76th minute, when Kamada went in at knee height on Tete, leaving the referee no choice but to send him off. Things then went from bad to worse as Wilson came off the pitch and added another goal off the bench. He slid the ball underneath Henderson, following a great pass from Iwobi. Fulham and Wilson then thought they had another, only for the VAR to jump in and chalk off a second goal of the game because of a handball by the goalscorer. The game ended 2-0 to Fulham, but they were unlucky that it wasn’t more. Palace, despite not scoring managed to create 1.75 xG over 97 minutes of football. Fulham made their 1.84 xG count and netted twice. Thank you for joining this live commentary, goodbye!

Lacroix is booked because of a frustrated tackle on a breaking Robinson. That was cynical and the Palace defender is rightly shown a yellow card.
