The 2023/24 Premier League season is under way and you can follow every game and every goal right here with The Independent.

This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Follow the latest action from the Premier League below.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Pochettino has won 12 of his 14 Premier League meetings with Palace (D1 L1), more than he’s managed against any other opponent. The Chelsea manager needs another second-half goal to continue that record, though.

Having dived to block Mateta's close-range effort, Silva gets back to his feet after some medical treatment and appears unable to continue. The Chelsea centre-back limps off for Colwill.

There are some muted appeals for handball as Chilwell's delivery strikes Munoz, though the referee waves play on. Down the other end, Silva is forced into a sliding block when Mateta pulls the trigger. The Chelsea centre-back immediately puts his hand in the air and could require medical attention here.

Palmer almost carves open the Palace defence from the halfway line but Andersen makes a wonderful sliding intervention. Chelsea look the far more likely to add to the scoreline at Selhurst Park.

Having played out a drab struggle in the first half, this game has become open in the second period and is a far more end-to-end spectacle. Palmer cuts inside and chops through for Jackson, who is needlessly caught offside from slow reactions to the initial move.

Can Gallagher prove the hero once more for the visitors? Out of his 14 Premier League strikes, 11 have either drawn his side level (four) or put them one goal in the lead (seven). The Blues midfield has also scored more top-flight goals against Palace (three) than he has against any other team.

Gallagher throws his arms in the air after a foul is given for a nudge on Hughes. Pochettino is unimpressed on the touchline as well, with the free-kick buying Palace some much-needed breathing room.

WIDE! Palmer is finding more space since being moved to the right-hand side, cutting onto his left foot before driving a low left-footed effort wide to Henderson's left. The Blues appear an entirely different team already.

Gallagher has scored 36 per cent of his Premier League goals at Selhurst Park (5/14), having played for Palace previously on loan. The Chelsea midfielder has his side back in this game here, too.
