87 mins: Lyanco knocks the ball behind for another Chelsea corner. Southampton are under the pump a bit here but they handle the set piece with confidence before working the ball down the other end of the pitch.

Chelsea win back the ball but Mount loses it in his own final third and Smallbone takes a shot from range that gets blocked on the edge of the box.

84 mins: Moussa Djenepo takes a knock and Ralph Hasenhuttl is forced into making his final substitution. Former Chelsea academy player Tino Livramento comes on to replace him.

Chelsea win a corner that Mason Mount whips into the box but Southampton deal with it well. Time is running out at Stamford Bridge. Penalties are looming.

81 mins: Djenepo gets booked for a cynical challenge on Ben Chilwell to stop a Chelsea counter-attack from developing. There’s less than 10 minutes to go now, are we heading for a penalty shootout or can someone find a winning goal?

78 mins: Oriol Romeu and Will Smallbone are brought on by Ralph Hasenhuttl replacing Stuart Armstrong and Ibrahima Diallo.

Chance! Smallbone’s first touch almost leads to a second goal as he meets a cross from the right wing and fires a header straight at Arrizabalaga who shuffles the ball wide of goal.

75 mins: Southampton win another free kick that comes to Shane Long and he sends a header wide of goal. Hudson-Odoi slots Havertz into the left side of the box and he fires it across to Saul who can’t take advantage of the opportunity.

He gets another chance from one of Chelsea’s next attacks. Hudson-Odoi’s shot is blocked on the left corner of thr box and the rebound comes to Saul. He curls a left-footed effort from range and almost finds the top corner only for Forster to leap across and push the ball wide! Great save from the Saints goalkeeper.

71 mins: Stuart Armstong swings a free kick into the box from the left but Sarr is there to clear for Chelsea. Mount breaks on the counter-attack but loses possession as he enters the final third.

68 mins: Theo Walcott and Shane Long are on for Southampton. Che Adams and Nathan Tella are off.

Thomas Tuchel also makes a double change Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell replace Ross Barkley and Hakim Ziyech.

65 mins: Chelsea work the free kick into the Southampton penalty are but Lyanco clears the danger for the Saints.

Southampton then fly down the left side with Lyanco heading the ball out to Djenepo who plays Adam Armstrong into the box. His pass into the middle is cleared by Chelsea but the Saints win a corner.

Stuart Armstrong curls the corner ball into the middle and find Adams who flicks it on to the back post but it drops for Alonso who boots it clear.

62 mins: I don’t think many people expected this. The second half has been electric so far, Chelsea and Southampton trading blows with chances coming at both ends.

Stuart Armstrong stops Barkley from breaking through the lines by shoving over the ball as the Chelsea midfielder sets off through the middle. Those two have been in a couple of confrontations in this half. Things are really heating up out there.
