RB Salzburg 1-2 Chelsea: Goals from Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz see Blues book their spot int he kockouts with a game to spare
Kai Havertz’s brilliant second-half goal earned Chelsea a 2-1 win at RB Salzburg which booked their place in the Champions League knockout stages.
The Germany international curled in a stunning effort midway through the second half to decide a testing evening in Austria and extend Graham Potter’s unbeaten start to his Blues reign to nine games.
The Premier League side had gone ahead through a fine strike by Mateo Kovacic and only a string of saves by impressive home goalkeeper Philipp Kohn stopped it being a rout at half-time.
The Austrian side levelled early in the second half through Junior Adamu’s superb breakaway effort as Chelsea looked in peril. Havertz had the final say, though, winning the match in style and sending his side through with his 20-yard effort that found the top corner.
Chelsea will top Group E if Dinamo Zagreb fail to beat AC Milan in the late kick-off. Relive the action as Chelsea beat RB Salzburg in the Champions League:

Shakhtar get the match started and boot the ball up the pitch where it is recovered by the home side and sent back to Joe Hart.
Celtic then transition nicely into an attack of their own and feed the ball up to Kyogo Furuhashi but his chip into the box is claimed by Anatoliy Trubin.

Chelsea have got the job done in Austria and qualified for the Champions League knockout stages so the focus moves over to Scotland where Celtic are facing a different proposition.
They need to defeat Shakhtar Donetsk in order to keep their European hopes alive. The Hoops can finish third in Group F at best after only picking up one point from their first four games but two wins from the final two group matches should be enough to get them into the Europa League.
Shakhtar meanwhile have their sights set on the last-16 and know that picking up three points tonight is crucial to those plans. It’s going to be a big game at Celtic Park.

Slazburg made it tricky for Graham Potter’s men in the second half but Kai Havertz scored a beauty to give Chelsea the win. It was a great game in the end and Chelsea get the job done.
