Despite dominating both ball and territory for most of the first half, Chelsea walk down the tunnel level with a dogged Nottingham Forest side, who have posed some threat through set-piece situations and with the occasional counter-attack. Too often, the home side have taken the wrong option in and around the opposition area, and they have managed just one shot on target. While Forest will be pleased with their performance so far, their hosts must do better in the final third.

HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 0-0 NOTTINGHAM FOREST

From a 20-yard free-kick, Fernandez clips the top of Nottingham Forest's defensive wall and the ball loops behind. However, there's no time left to take the resulting corner.

Again, Sterling dithers in the area after opening up space with a rapid run, and when he finally lays the ball back for Jackson to hit, the latter can only crash his shot straight into a Forest defender.

At the start of at least three minutes added on for stoppages at the end of this lively first half, Danilo pulls up with an apparent hamstring strain. It looks as if the Brazilian midfielder will have to be replaced.

Sterling drives in from the right touchline once again, but rather than picking out a team-mate on the other side of the area, he opts to drive a low shot through a thicket of red-shirted defenders. Worrall's block sends the ball behind for a corner.
