Ruben Loftus-Cheek capped his impressive comeback with a first Chelsea goal since May 2019 as the Blues defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 to reach their third successive FA Cup final.

Loftus-Cheek’s thunderbolt finish dragged the Blues out of a sluggish performance and into a 16th FA Cup final, with Mason Mount’s angled effort sealing the deal.

England midfielder Loftus-Cheek spent the 2017-18 season on loan with the Eagles, even forcing his way to the World Cup after his campaign at Selhurst Park.

But the 26-year-old showed no split loyalty in dumping his former side out of England’s premier cup competition.

Loftus-Cheek’s first Chelsea goal since the 1-1 Europa League draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on May 9, 2019 spurred the Blues on past their clear fatigue and into yet another final. Relive all the action below:

West Ham 0-0 Burnley

22 mins: A rare foray forward for the visitors and it’s as route one as you will ever see.

Nick Pope takes a long goal kick which Ben Johnson gets his head to ahead of Rodriguez but can only flick it backwards into the path of Cornet. The Burnley forward fizzes a low cross into the box but Fabianski gathers before Weghorst can reach it with his long outstretched boot.

West Ham 0-0 Burnley

15 mins: West Ham are dominating the ball now after a brief early spell of Burnley possession.

That’s careless from Craig Dawson, though. He plays a simple pass out of play.

But West Ham win it straight back.

West Ham 0-0 Burnley

13 mins: Antonio whips a dangerous cross into the middle which Lowton has to head up and over his own crossbar from inside the six-yard box.

It goes out for a corner and West Ham work a lovely move to Bowen at the edge of the box. He takes aim and picks out the top corner but Nick Pope is equal to it!

Sensational save.
