United's third win of the Premier League season takes them on to nine points and moves them up to eighth. Ten Hag's men will open their defence of the EFL Cup next, hosting Palace at Old Trafford on Tuesday as they look to repeat their cup heroics of last season. For Burnley, their wait for a first win since returning to the top-flight continues and Kompany will be frustrated by how little troubled United in the second half. They are also in EFL Cup action on Tuesday, travelling to take on League Two side Salford City.

The full-time whistle blows, and with it comes a huge three points for United as they claim a first win in four thanks to a 1-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor. A moment of real class provided the 45th-minute winner, as Evans picked out Fernandes with a delightful lofted throughball before the Red Devils captain fired a brilliant volley into the far corner. The Clarets huffed and puffed after the break but never really troubled United in truth, as Ten Hag's makeshift backline stood up to the task to secure a much-needed win.
