The draw for the Saints keeps them in 13th place, and they'll host Crystal Palace next time out as they look for a strong finish to the season.

The referee has blown the whistle on a lively game, with honours even after a 2-2 draw. It was the hosts who got off to the quick start, as Welbeck tapped a Cucurella cross home after just two minutes. After a lengthy delay for a serious injury to Livramento, the hosts' lead was then doubled as Salisu deflected a Trossard through-ball into the back of his own net. Ward-Prowse grabbed a goal back just before half-time with a superb free-kick, before he got his side back on level terms with a brilliant drive after a Romeu backheel in the 54th minute. Gross thought he had put his side back in front, as he fired home from 25 yards out with 12 minutes to play. However the linesman's flag went up and ruled it out, and a VAR check showed that he was indeed offside. Both teams pressed for a late winner, but neither could find one and the game finishes level.
