The hosts lead 1-0 at the break, with Ferguson profiting from a rare Pope error to give Brighton the lead in an otherwise even game! Newcastle started on the front foot, with Isak squandering two early chances before Verbruggen intervened to prevent a Dunk own-goal. Brighton were just as dangerous going forward though, with March and Ferguson both forcing Pope into saves. He did well with those, but spilled Gilmour's long-range strike straight to Ferguson. The second half is shaping up to be a cracker, with either side more than capable of taking all three points here!
