The hosts controlled the match from kick off and were made to work with Jadon Sancho in particular a fierce threat on the right hand side.
It was a simple over the top pass from Nico Schlotterbeck that brought the goal. Niclas Fullkrug nipping in behind and slotting past Gianluigi Donnarumma for the opener.
PSG started the second half in blistering fashion with Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi both hitting the post but theyr were unable to draw level and will trail by one goal when the tie continues in Paris next week.

19 mins: PSG win a free kick over on the right wing inside Dortmund’s final third. Dembele whips the set piece into the middle of the penalty area but the ball is blocked by a Dortmund shirt.
Lucas Hernandez takes a knock to the head and goes down but he’s okay to play on.

16 mins: Marcel Sabitzer looks to sneak in behind the PSG defence after a pass comes over the top but Achraf Hakimi is aware of the danger and has a head start on the midfielder to get to the ball first.
PSG then transition well and send the ball up to Kylian Mbappe. He drives it forward and waits for his teammates to arrive. The ball comes over to Ousmane Dembele who goes for goal again and sends this effort just wide of the post too.

13 mins: Save! Jadon Sancho wins the ball back on the right wing and slots it forward to Julian Brandt. He feeds it into the box for Marcel Sabitzer who takes a first time shot towards goal and fizzes his effort straight at Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The big goalkeeper gets low and stops the effort, denying Dortmund the opening goal.
