Follow live coverage as Aston Villa face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Aston Villa vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Turning the game totally on its head late in the second half, Aston Villa produce a 3-1 victory over local rivals Wolves, extending their success streak to four matches while prolonging their visitors' wait for a win. Cunha's opportunistic strike deservedly put Wolves in front at the break, but when Watkins broke through on 73 minutes, the away side crumbled. Konsa then converted a cross from Tielemans to give Villa the lead, before super-sub Duran added another goal after appearing from the bench. A game featuring 13 minutes of second-half stoppage time due to a worrying injury to Mosquera ends with another defeat for Wolves - whose final xG stands at 0.5 to Villa's 0.99 - and they remain on just one point in the Premier League table. After moving onto 12, Aston Villa will next face Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Cup; meanwhile, it doesn't get any easier for Wolves, who must host Liverpool next weekend. That's all from Villa Park today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
