The 2023/24 Premier League season is under way and you can follow every game and every goal right here with The Independent.

This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Follow the latest action from the Premier League below.

Arsenal vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Arsenal will be looking to keep their foot down to quieten some of their critics here. Though they're top of the league, there have been plenty of suggestions that their football has been less than free-flowing this term. They've definitely dropped the pace since making that blistering start.

Arsenal managed 12 shots to Wolves' two during the first half, hitting the target four times and not facing a shot on target themselves. The Gunners have started this half on top, too.

Wolves finally break out as Bellegarde carries the ball forward before playing it wide to Hugo Bueno. His deep cross is awkwardly headed into the air by Zinchenko, then Hwang can only slice his volley behind, much to the Ukrainian's relief.

No penalty is the decision, with Kilman's touch on Jesus being extremely light. O'Neil must have been holding his breath there!

CHANCE! Arsenal are camped on the edge of Wolves' area now. Tomiyasu swings a cross across the face of goal, and Jesus just fails to nod it into an empty net. Jesus is pleading for a penalty, saying Kilman pushed him, and the VAR will take a closer look...

Saka has been electric so far. He skips past Hugo Bueno with ease before standing up a right-footed cross, but Kilman gets there ahead of Jesus to clear. Arsenal come again through Trossard, but his cross is also headed out by Kilman.
