Arsenal 5-0 Sheffield United: The Gunners close the gap on league leaders Tottenham with blistering display at the Emirates
Arsenal took a big step forwards in the race for the Premier League title as they hammered Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta will be over the moon with his team’s display as Eddie Nketiah proved his worth as the main forward once more by scoring a hat-trick to secure the points before Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu put the icing of the cake for the Gunners with goals from the bench.
Nketiah completed his first Premier League hat-trick to extend Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the season, scoring his first with a deft touch and finish, before thumping his second effort into the roof of the net.
A superb strike from 25 yards secured the hat-trick before Vieira netted a late penalty and Tomiyasu got on the end of a flick from Mohamed Elneny.
