Arteta refuses to admit Arsenal are title contenders

Mikel Arteta will hope to continue Arsenal’s stellar form as they welcome Bodo/Glimt to the Emirates stadium tonight. The Gunners were triumphant in the north London derby at the weekend leaving them top of the Premier League table ahead of their clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsenal are unbeaten in the Europa League this term but have only played one game – a 2-1 victory over FC Zurich - thanks to their match versus PSV Eindhoven being postponed due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Their opponents this evening, Bodo/Glimt, are also yet to lose having picked up one win and one draw from their opening two fixtures. That means that the winner of tonight’s clash will finish the matchday top of Group A.

Arteta is aware of the hectic schedule facing his players and says he will not hesitate to rotate his squad so it will be interesting to see how strong a line-up he chooses tonight. The Gunners boss will no doubt have one eye on the Liverpool game this weekend, but he will also want to secure Europa League qualification as soon as possible.

Follow all the Europa League action from the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal host Bodo/Glimt:

Arsenal 0-0 Bodo/Glimt

21 mins: Oh my god Arsenal just shoot!

The Gunners have five men in the box as Gabriel Martinelli flicks a cross in from the left side. He picks out Marquinhos who chests it down then dallies on the ball instead of fizzing off a quick effort.

Marquinhos gets tackled and Arsenal waste another good chance.

Arsenal 0-0 Bodo/Glimt

15 mins: Xhaka sneaks into a little channel on the left side of the box but overdoes his cross and Eddie Nketiah just watches it sail over his own head.

The Gunners are just missing that final clinical pass so far.

Arsenal 0-0 Bodo/Glimt

12 mins: It just feels like a matter of time before Arsenal score but Manchester United started off in a similar fashion and ended up conceding first.

The longer Arsenal go without scoring the more confidence Bodo/Glimt will gain.

Arsenal 0-0 Bodo/Glimt

9 mins: Close! Kieran Tierney whips a cross into the box that gets headed out to Granit Xhaka who flicks it back over to the left-back. He carries the ball into the area and pulls it back to Fabio Silva.

A deflection sits the ball up nicely for him and he takes a touch before drilling an effort over the crossbar on the half-volley!

6 mins: Chance! Eddie Nketiah gets the first real opportunity for the Gunners with a driving run forward before cutting inside and lacing an effort wide of goal from just outside the penalty area.
