Arteta 'enjoying the moment' as Arsenal pursue Champions League glory

Arsenal salvaged a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich as Leandro Trossard grabbed a late equaliser after Harry Kane threatened to spoil the party in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s side will head to Munich next week with the tie in the balance after a thrilling contest, as Arsenal showed resilience to earn a draw after trailing at the break to Kane’s penalty.

The former Tottenham striker returned to haunt Arsenal once again as Kane became the leading scorer against Gunners at the Emirates - although the England captain was perhaps fortunate to escape a red card for an elbow on Gabriel.

Arsenal had made the perfect start to their first Champions League quarter-final since 2010 as Bukayo Saka whipped a wonderful finish into the corner, but Serge Gnabry then returned to the Emirates to strike against his former team.

Kane then converted from the spot after Leroy Sane was brought down in the box, before Trossard fired Arsenal level in the second half after a magic dribble from Gabriel Jesus.

And there was late drama at the end as Saka was brought down in the box by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, with Arsenal’s appeals waved away by the referee.
