Wolves may have won just one of their six away games against Bournemouth in the league, but they are unbeaten at the Vitality Stadium in Premier League fixtures. After a run of six losses from eight top-flight matches, the West Midlands club have since gone undefeated in their last three, most recently playing out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa before international football intervened. However, they have won just one of their last 12 away games in the league ahead of today's contest, in which head coach Gary O’Neil reconvenes with his former employer.

Still seeking their first Premier League victory of the season, Bournemouth are one of only two teams yet to win in the English top flight this term. The Cherries have recently suffered three successive league defeats, conceding nine goals in the process; with a 3-0 loss at Everton deeping their woes just before the international break. Indeed, Andoni Iraola's side have scored as many goals in two EFL Cup games as in eight league matches so far. While Bournemouth have won just one of their six Premier League meetings with Wolves, it was the clubs' most recent encounter, at Molineux in February.
