AFC Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction
Follow all the action from Vitality Stadium
Crystal Palace picked up three crucial points in their final game of 2022 with a 2-0 win at Bournemouth.
Both goals for Palace, who had failed to register any shots on target in their Boxing Day loss to Fulham, came from first-half set pieces.
Jordan Ayew opened the scoring when he nodded in a corner from Michael Olise, who also set up Eberechi Eze for the Eagles’ second.
New Bournemouth owners Bill Foley and actor Michael B. Jordan were introduced on the pitch before kick-off, but the sprinkle of Hollywood stardust did little to lift Gary O’Neil’s side.
Both sides paid tribute to Pele with a minute’s applause before action was under way under a considerable downpour.
We will bring you all the reaction and updates from today's game in the live blog below:

Bournemouth must improve in the second half if they want to get back into the game. Zaha was quiet for most of the first 45 minutes, but his absence from the headlines allowed Olise to shine. He has regularly beaten Zemura down the left, with the full-back struggling to deal with his ability on the ball. With Moore and Solanke in attack, Bournemouth should look to launch the ball in an attempt to score.

Goals from Ayew and Eze give Palace the lead at the break with both coming from corner routines. Olise has two assists to his name, with his first coming from an outswinging cross from the left. Looking for Ayew, the former Reading man went high, allowing the striker to lose his marker and power a header past Travers. The second was prepared. Previously attempted with a free-kick earlier in the proceedings, Palace got it right on the second attempt. From the right, Olise fired the ball towards an unmarked Eze on the edge, who rushed towards it before curling his effort beyond the goalkeeper. Second best, Bournemouth had just one shot before the break, with Cook missing the target.

There has not been much of a reaction from Bournemouth since conceding the second goal. O'Neil will certainly want to talk to his side at the break after a lacklustre first half.

Having won just one of their first seven Premier League games against Bournemouth (D4 L2), Crystal Palace have won each of their last three against the Cherries. They are doing all the right things in an attempt to secure a fourth successive win.
